Yes I did order a Panasonic GH2 from Japan. You are correct about the cameras sold into the the Japanese market do have their languages locked as Japanese. I have found that most of the time this does not pose much of a problem. I can easily figure out what is going on since all the camera lingo (i.e. Exposure, Aperature, etc...) is still in English, the menu symbols are pretty intuitive, and just intuition on what the camera is asking/saying (like if I want to delete it asks "are you sure?" in Japanese...not to hard to figure out). There are some areas of trouble though. For instance, some of the movie settings have the scene selections written in Japanese with no symbols...so there it is a pain. I knew I might have some language troubles going in, but luckily my significant other speaks Japanese, so when I get in a bind I have her translate. So yes the camera menus are locked in Japanese. So far I have been able to get by without relaying on my girlfriends linguistic abilities at all. Also, I'm not sure if Amazon Japan will ship it out of Japan because of manufacture requests not to (most likely to control distribution). Not sure about that but Amazon will let you know if they won't ship to your address. I had to ship it to a friend in Japan and have her ship it to me in Korea.
