Recently one of my best friends, Jake who will be hence forth referred to as Naked Jake (people that know him understand this moniker), has left the country to return back to California. He had the unfortunate situation of being placed in one of the teaching English in Korea horror stories that every expat here knows of [...] So recently I have taken a new job here in Korea. Which means my journey here is being extended by at least another year. I recently took a job with the Korean Hydro & Nuclear Power Company which I’m quiet excited for. One particular routine is my walk from my apartment to the subway/work (they are in the same spot) that I repeat multiple times a day. I know it sounds mundane but I think it is something that I [...] Earlier this month a big event came to the beach near my house, the Gwangalli Fireworks Festival or in Korean 부산불꽃축제. I am fortunate enough to have an apartment building that is near proximity to the Gwangan beach with a nearly optimal view from the roof. The view could have been a little better if we [...] So recently another Western holiday came and passed here in Korea. This time it was one of my all time favorites, HALLOWEEN! Sadly this is not a much celebrated holiday here in the Land of Kimchi but for those that want to party we make due in our own fashion. Anyways my birthday in Korea was definitely up there as one of the better ones that I have had. I guess I’ll just [...] While I was in Thailand my indestructible Olympus 1030 Stylus camera decided to go on the fritz. It seems that externally it survives everything but internally it can’t survive a battery leaking highly corrosive chemicals through out it’s chassis, but hopefully that is repairable. So for most of my trip to Thailand I couldn’t take any [...] I know that my first post about Phuket was almost completely negative sounding but for those of you that know me well, you know I would find a way to have fun. Well I definitely had tons of fun and created tons of ridiculous stories. The day I arrived at the Phuket airport I connected up with [...] My first destination in Thailand was the island of Phuket at the suggestion of many peoples and websites. Sadly this destination proved to not to be my cup of tea because it was just to full of working girls, peddlers, inconsistent weather, and overrun by American military. Before I delve into that let’s just say the [...] I am super excited that at the end of the month I will be going to Thailand for almost 2 weeks.
